Who Are We?

RICHARD WHITE, Owner
I am a professional residential home renovation contractor. I have over 25 years of residential home remodeling and new home construction experience.
In 1986, armed with a Bachelor's degree from the esteemed jazz and contemporary music school, Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA., I struck out into the world as a... carpenter. To support a career in music, I started with a small company in the Boston area learning the ropes of the construction trades. I apprenticed with 2 brothers, both union journeymen carpenters, who taught me all the basics of rough and finish carpentry, drywall, siding and roofing. I soon discovered that this business was in my blood and I would spend the next 20 years growing and learning a business that would provide me great satisfaction for years to come.
Moving to Cincinnati, OH. in 1989, I took a job as a framing carpenter for a custom homebuilder in the Indian Hill area, building large custom homes. I was then moved into an inside job learning the ins and outs of finish carpentry from some of the best 30 year veteran finish carpenters I have ever met.
4 years into my career, I was privileged to work on the historical restoration of Cincinnati's West End neighborhood, returning some of downtown Cincinnati's oldest structures to their vibrancy of bygone days.
In 1991, I accepted a customer service position with a large local homebuilder in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. With a wide variety of experience from all types of building, this unique experience gave me the opportunity to see new homes after they were built and to help customers get the service and quality they paid for while performing all types of routine services that typically occur in any new construction project. Two years later I was given the opportunity to move into the homebuilding operations. My experiences were about to get richer. In 1995, I started a job as a Project Manager with the 9th largest homebuilder in the United States. A business decision I would never regret. As a Project Manager, my knowledge base grew exponentially to encompass a wide variety of skills including, scheduling, sub-contractor procurement and management, costing and site management. This would lay the ground work for my next move into the companies corporate training department. A dream job that allowed me to develop people and future homebuilders and solidify my knowledge in the entire process. If you can teach it, you can do it.
Starting this business brings full circle years of knowledge, professionalism and experience to provide my clients the best possible product and service.

CYNTHIA WHITE, CKD, Owner
I am a professional, Certified Kitchen Designer, (CKD) with over 25 yrs. of experience in residential and multifamily design. My Bachelors of Science degree is in Interior Design from Ohio University, Athens, OH.
Starting in a small architectural firm in Cambridge, MA. I learned the basics of all architectural design and construction, working on a variety of projects including custom homes on Martha's Vineyard, MA. and historical restoration in some of Boston's oldest neighborhoods, as well as kitchen and bathroom design for remodeling projects.
In 1989, I moved to Cincinnati, OH to pursue a career in a large architectural firm designing a large luxury multi-family condominium project in downtown Cincinnati. During this period I also had the opportunity to be a part of designing corporate office space as well as bank and retail space, but my passion lay in residential design.
In 1994, my interests in residential space planning and design led me to start my own residential design company. 1996 brought me my Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) accreditation from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. I worked for many years doing a wide variety of design from kitchens and baths, to additions, decks and new homes.
In 2008, I started working for a local stone and granite supplier, working with customers to select granite tops for kitchens and baths. This position gave me a great opportunity to work with people selecting the type of stone best suited for their needs. I would also help them with design and color selections to truly make their homes a reflection of their personal style.
In 2010 I joined Centerville Building and Design. As a kitchen and bath designer, I am passionate about getting to know my client's goals and desires. Function and aesthetics are balanced and brought together in clear, simple design to meet each client's needs. Working together has always been a dream for both of us, and being a full time partner with Richard, allows us to bring a full service design build company to the Greater Dayton area and help people create truly unique spaces in their homes.
